Building a Smart Party Early in Emberfall Saga
Emberfall Saga has a rough first chapter. The story takes a while to hook, and the combat feels shallow until you unlock more companions. If you're on the fence, push to the end of chapter one before deciding — that's where it clicks.
Early on, don't spread your attention across every character. Pick two you like and level them consistently so you have reliable answers in tough fights. The game throws elemental puzzles at you often, so having one fire-leaning and one ice-leaning companion covers most situations.
Use the pause. Battles wait for you, and taking ten seconds to plan a turn is the difference between a clean win and a slog. I lost a couple of fights early just by rushing before I understood how weaknesses stacked.
Save your best consumables. The game is generous with them, and I hoarded so hard that I finished chapter three with a full inventory I never touched. Spend them; the story fights later are where they matter.
